The 2026 World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) Hamburg is scheduled for July 11–12, 2026. Known as the “World’s Biggest Tri,” Hamburg hosts an electric weekend combining elite racing, world championship titles, paratriathlon events, and massive age-group open races.
The schedule and race formats for the event program include:
1. Elite & Championship Program
- Saturday, July 11, 2026:Elite Men & Elite Women Individual Races
- Format: Sprint Distance (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run).
- What’s at stake: Critical world championship ranking points and valuable qualification points for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
- Sunday, July 12, 2026: World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships
- Format: Mixed Relay (Teams of 4: female-male-female-male, each completing a super-sprint triathlon).
- What’s at stake: The official 2026 World Championship Title for the Mixed Relay category.
2. World Triathlon Para Series
- July 11–12, 2026:Para Series Hamburg
- Hamburg serves as the 4th and final leg of the global 2026 World Para Series tier, featuring top paratriathletes competing across multiple classifications before the World Championships in September.
3. Open Races (“Jedermann” / Age-Group)
- July 11–12, 2026:Amateur & Public Races
- Over 10,000 recreational athletes will take over the same city-center course.
- Available Formats: * Sprint Distance: 500m swim, 20km bike, 5km run (available for individuals or relay teams).
- Olympic / Standard Distance: 1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run.

The Course Highlights
- Swim: Takes place in the Binnenalster lake, starting at the Jungfernstieg, which features a unique sprint through the pitch-black tunnel beneath the Reesendammbrücke bridge.
- Bike: A fast, highly technical, and flat multi-lap street circuit along the Elbe River.
- Run & Finish: A scenic run along the banks of the Alster, finishing on the iconic blue carpet at the Rathausmarkt right in front of Hamburg’s historic City Hall.

1. Jeanne Lehair
- Individual Sprint Race (Saturday): Finished in the Top 10 (8th place) after entering the weekend as the overall WTCS series leader. She was a major player on the bike, chasing down an early breakaway to keep herself in contention.
- Mixed Relay (Sunday – Leg 1): Delivered an incredible opening leg. During the 1.6km run, she was right at the front of the race alongside individual winner Leonie Periault (FRA) and Lisa Tertsch (GER).
