The Val di Fassa Running Event is a multi-stage mountain running competition through the Dolomites. The event consists of 5 racing stages spread across 6 days, featuring a total distance of around 45 kilometers.
Here is the official program for the event:
Pre-Race & Registration
- Saturday, June 20: Bib pickup in Pozza di Fassa from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Sunday, June 21: Bib pickup in Canazei from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The Stage Schedule
- Stage 1: Sunday, June 21 – Canazei (Evening Stage)
- Distance: 6.8 km | Elevation Gain: +82 m
- Highlights: This stage takes place in the evening. Afterward, there is a Pasta Party at 7:00 PM, live music, entertainment, and a technical briefing for the upcoming stages.
- Stage 2: Monday, June 22 – Vigo di Fassa
- Distance: 10.1 km | Elevation Gain: +329 m
- Stage 3: Tuesday, June 23 – Campitello di Fassa
- Distance: 12.3 km | Elevation Gain: +628 m
- Highlights: Runners travel along forest roads near Monte Ponjin into Val Duron.
- Rest Day: Wednesday, June 24 – Pozza di Fassa
- Highlights: A rest day for adult runners, featuring a dedicated youth race for children and teenagers.
- Stage 4: Thursday, June 25 – Pozza di Fassa
- Distance: 9.6 km | Elevation Gain: +302 m
- Stage 5: Friday, June 26 – Passo San Pellegrino
- Distance: 6.7 km | Elevation Gain: +734 m
- Highlights: The final, traditional Dolomite mountain climb. It is a pure uphill route starting from Passo San Pellegrino and finishing at the high-altitude Col Margherita.
Closing Ceremonies
- Friday, June 26: The Grand Awards & Entertainment Evening takes place in Pozza at 9:00 PM.
Note: Except for the opening evening stage on Sunday, all running stages take place during the morning. A new option is also available for registered walkers, featuring shorter distances and gentler slopes along the same courses.
