The Porto International Half Marathon (also known as the Hyundai Porto Half Marathon) is an annual road running event held in Porto, Portugal.
Here’s a brief history of the race:
- Established in 2007: The inaugural edition of the Porto Half Marathon took place in 2007. Since its inception, the race has been held every year in mid-September.
- A Scenic and Fast Course: The course is known for being flat and fast, following the Douro River and passing by many of the city’s iconic landmarks, including the Dom Luís I Bridge.
- Attraction of Elite Athletes: The event has consistently attracted top-tier athletes, primarily from East Africa and Portugal. Notable winners have included Olympic champions like Haile Gebrselassie and Samuel Wanjiru.
- Course Records:
- Men’s: Zersenay Tadese set the men’s course record in 2011 with a time of 59:30.
- Women’s: The women’s course record was set in 2023 by Enatnesh Tirusew with a time of 1:07:13.
- Growth in Popularity: The half marathon, along with a shorter 6km mini-marathon, has grown in popularity over the years, attracting thousands of participants from around the world annually.
- Part of a Larger Running Community: The Porto Half Marathon is one of three major annual running events organized in the city by Run Porto, along with the Porto Marathon and the São Silvestre do Porto.
The Hyundai Porto International Half Marathon will take place on September 14, 2025 at 9:00 am, in the city of Porto, which will include a Mini Marathon of 5Km
Start times
- 9:00 am – Porto Half Marathon – 21k
- 9:00 am – Mini Marathon – 5k
The kits of participant will be delivered at:
Alameda Shop & Spot: Shopping Center – September 12th and 13th between 10:00 and 23:00.
No kits will be delivered at any other time in addition to those appointed.

Sub-elite: Proof of time must be sent to geral@runporto.com by August 31st, 2025.
Wardrobe
The wardrobe is located at the Start/Finish area
The organization will have to the Half Marathon athletes a wardrobe. Next to the start/finish line, the participants may leave their bags, which have to been properly identified by the participants and collect later in the same place. The bags must be identified with the number of the participant’s bib. The organization does not store loose objects (eg. Jacket, helmet, cell phone, etc.).
The organization assumes no responsibility for any loss of property.

Showers
At the end of Hyundai Porto Half Marathon athletes can make use of the showers kindly provided by Clube Fluvial Portuense.
You will only be asked to show the race number and will be available between 10:15 and 12:30.
ENGRAVING MEDALS
How to purchase:

On the day of the event, after crossing the finish line and receive the medal, you should proceed to the Medal Engraving stand, show your race number and your name and race time will be engraved on the medal.
