Course Breakdown

• 🏊 Swim (3.8 km / 2.4 miles): * Location: Ulibarri-Gamboa Lake (Landa Provincial Park).
  • Details: A single-loop freshwater swim notorious for its high “drinking-quality” water clarity. It features a short run into transition. The lake conditions are generally much calmer than an open-ocean swim, though mid-summer water temperatures typically average around 21°C (70°F).
• 🚴 Bike (180.2 km / 112 miles): * Location: Rolling out through the picturesque towns and countryside of the Álava region.
  • Details: A fast, rolling 2.5-to-3-loop course with roughly 1,100–1,200 meters of total elevation gain. It allows athletes to lock into a steady aerodynamic rhythm, though managing power variability on the rolling hills is key.
• 🏃 Run (42.2 km / 26.2 miles): * Location: Vitoria-Gasteiz city center.
  • Details: A very flat, 4-loop course weaving through the historic, packed streets of the city. The fan support here is legendary, concluding at a massive finish line in the iconic Plaza España.

🏆 Pro Men’s Podium Results

France’s Damien Le Mesnager pulled off a spectacular performance. Exiting the water in 16th place with a 4-minute deficit, he used a masterclass cycling leg to catch the lead group before executing a late surge on the half-marathon to take the title.

🏆 Pro Women’s Podium Results

Australia’s Natalie Van Coevorden dominated the women’s division from start to finish. She led right out of the swim (28:16) and managed to hold off a charging bike leg from Nina Derron, widening her lead once again during the half-marathon to secure a convincing win.
