Pure Waters and Majestic Mountains
The majestic Alps – reflected in the pure waters of Lake Thun – welcomes athletes to Thun, the new home of IRONMAN Switzerland. This race took place in Zurich for 23 years before moving to its new home, a celebration of the Swiss mountain culture and landscape. Spot the three famous peaks Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau right from the event site and marvel at the beauty of this otherworldly landscape.
The 2024 IRONMAN Switzerland Thun took place on July 7, 2024. The race featured an all-male Pro field alongside highly competitive Age-Group categories.

Germany’s Leonard Arnold dominated the race, setting a blazing new overall course record with a time of 7:49:20, which included an impressive 2:36:12 marathon run.

Race Note: The 2024 race saw exceptionally fast conditions in Thun. Alongside Leonard Arnold’s overall course record, Germany’s Ruben Zepuntke set a blistering swim record (47:40), and Norway’s Marius Bjerkeset shattered the bike course record with a time of 4:07:23.
