The next edition of the European Athletics U23 Championships will be held in Bergen, Norway from 17-20 July, the first time the Nordic country has staged the biennial championships which has been on the calendar since 1997.
Eight championship records were set the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo. Among those to revise the record-books were world discus record-holder Mykolas Alekna with 68.34m and soon-to-be Olympic decathlon champion Markus Rooth in the decathlon with 8608 points.

The European Athletics U23 Championships take place in Bergen, Norway from 17-20 July and it is shaping up to be an excellent championships for both Serbia and Germany in the women’s field events.
And in the heptathlon, watch out for Finland’s Saga Vanninen, one of two individual championships from the European Athletics Indoor Championships to be competing in Bergen. Vanninen will be aiming to win back-to-back titles having triumphed on home soil in Espoo two years ago.
