The cycling event in the Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa is officially known as the Marcialonga Cycling Craft. It is a major, highly popular Italian granfondo (long-distance road cycling race) that takes place annually through the scenic Avisio valleys and the Dolomites.
The 2026 edition took place on May 31, 2026, starting and finishing in the town of Predazzo (Val di Fiemme).
Here are the key details of the event:
The Routes
Participants can choose between two main routes depending on their fitness level, featuring legendary mountain passes:
- Granfondo (Long Route): 135 km with a grueling 3,900 meters of total elevation gain. It is designed for highly trained amateurs.
- Mediofondo (Medium Route): 80 km with 2,488 meters of elevation gain.
Iconic Mountain Passes Covered
The race is famous for tackling some of the most beautiful and challenging climbs in the Dolomite region:
- Passo Costalunga (near the beautiful Lake Carezza)
- Passo Pampeago (featuring steep ramps and views of the Latemar massif)
- Passo San Pellegrino * Passo Valles (riding through the Paneveggio Natural Park)
Event Format
- Two Categories: Cyclists can register either as competitive amateurs (with timing chips and official rankings) or as cyclo-tourists (non-competitive, allowing riders to enjoy the scenery without the pressure of a stopwatch).
- Youth Event: Alongside the main race, the event hosts the Minicycling race, which is dedicated to children and younger teenagers.
It serves as the summer cycling sibling to the famous Marcialonga winter cross-country ski race, which covers the same Italian valleys.

THE TRACK OF THE GRANFONDO
Marcialonga Craft is characterised by two different routes, a shorter route with 80k (+2448) and a longer one with 130k (+3900), where you can decide during the race which one to choose. A challenge with yourself, facing four Dolomitic passes (two on the medium route) which will give you lots of satisfaction and emotion. Amongst the highlights of the track you can find the Costalunga Pass with the wonderful Carezza Lake and the Passo Pampeago, for many years stage of the Giro d’Italia. If you are travelling with your family do not miss the Minicycling, the event dedicated to kids up to 12 yers old. The young cyclists will have the chance to have some fun through a kids dediceted course in the center of Predazzo. Difficulty and length will be decided according to age and category.
NOT ONLY BIKES
Marcialonga Craft is the second race of the Marcialonga season, which starts the last weekend of January on the Nordic Ski slopes with the most famous Marcialonga and finishes at the end of summer with the running event Marcialonga Coop. The cycling Granfondo, in addition to the other races, is an indispensable stage to be part of the brand new Marcialonga Superstar Club or complete the Team Combined event Punto3 Craft, the special rankings that award the athletes who decide to get involved in the three disciplines both singularly or in a team.
