Registration for the 37th edition of the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi is now open.
The official program of events for La Fausto Coppi (hosted in Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy) features multi-day celebrations surrounding the historic cycling event, which culminates in the main Granfondo.
The general schedule of the weekend consists of the following key events and timelines:
Thursday
- 21:00 – “C’è da ridere” (Comedy Show) at the Teatro Toselli. Ticket proceeds benefit youth mental health support via the C’è Da Fare ETS Association.
Friday
- 14:30 – Junior Cup – Cycling races for youth categories (ages 5–12), organized by the Italian Cycling Federation (Cuneo Provincial Committee).
- 16:00 – Opening of the Expo Area and the collection/distribution of race packs and bib numbers.
- 18:00 – La Fausto Coppi Teobike – A city-wide cycling parade/ride for children.
- 19:00 – Run the Night Kids – Youth running races through the streets of Cuneo.
- 20:00 – Theme/Host Country Dinner – A community dinner held in Piazza Galimberti to honor the special guest country (such as the recent Danish edition celebration).
- 21:00 – Run The Night – A night-run charity event through the city streets. Includes both a 21 km competitive race (FIDAL-approved) and a 10 km non-competitive run.
Saturday
- 07:30 – Registration and race pack collection opens for the Fausto de Tierra gravel tour.
- 08:00 – Karhu House – Various activities and free-admission themed talks at the Karhu Arena tent in Piazza Galimberti.
- 08:30 – Start of the “Fausto de Tierra” Gravel Cyclotourist Ride (a self-guided, non-competitive gravel event exploring the woods and rivers around Cuneo).
- 10:00 – Main registration and race pack distribution opens for the primary Granfondo.
- 17:00 – Institutional greetings and diplomatic receptions at the Town Hall (Salone d’Onore del Municipio).
- 18:00 – Parade on Via Roma featuring international representations and marching bands.
- 18:30 – Official Opening Ceremony of La Fausto Coppi, featuring institutional speeches and the traditional lighting of the event’s cauldron.
- 19:00 – Tre Bande, Una Piazza – A grand joint musical concert in Piazza Galimberti involving local and visiting marching bands (around 100 musicians).
- 20:00 – Race pack distribution closes for the night.
- 21:00 – Sports talk and interviews in Piazza Galimberti featuring Olympic sports champions, celebrating athletic achievement and history.
Sunday (Race Day)
- 07:00 – Official Start of the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi from Piazza Galimberti.
- Granfondo Route: 172 km with 4,330 meters of climbing (covering the iconic climbs of Colletta di Rossana, Colle di Sampeyre, Colle d’Esischie, Colle Fauniera, and Madonna del Colletto).
- Mediofondo Route: 111 km with 2,510 meters of elevation gain (climbing Colle Fauniera via Esischie and Madonna del Colletto).
- Fauniera Classic Route: 101 km with 2,187 meters of climbing (a non-competitive, untimed version of the scenic route).
- 09:30 – Start of La Fausto Coppi Mangia & Pedala (a relaxed food-and-bike cycle tour meant for families and tourists).
- 10:50 – Arrival of the first Mediofondo riders back at Piazza Galimberti.
- 13:00 – Arrival of the first Granfondo riders back at Piazza Galimberti.
- 14:30 – Official Award Ceremony.
- 17:00 – Official closing of the event village.
