Stuttgart, Germany 15.09.2024
On September 15, there will be a breakthrough through Stuttgart & the region. This year, the route will focus on the south and south-west of Stuttgart – undulating, varied and scenically interesting – typical of the region. There is once again a short route of 58 km and a long route of 108 km. Through Wรผrmtal, Aichtal and Siebenmรผhlental – with a few short climbs and the longer ascent to Deckenpfronn.
After the start in Stuttgart, the route heads southwest out of the Stuttgart basin. The climb up to Stuttgart-Dรผrrlewang and Stuttgart-Vaihingen is completed with fresh legs – it is the steepest climb of the laps and brings the pretzel racers to the edge of the basin.
The long Pretzel Race loop leads via the district of Bรผsnau through the Hรถlzertal valley to Magstadt, over the Eierpass to Renningen and then to Weil der Stadt. The scenery remains beautiful, with a short stretch up the Wรผrmtal valley leading to the longest climb of the route. From Aidlingen to Deufringen, the route initially climbs only slightly, then from Dachtel there are around two and a half kilometers with two hairpin bends and an irregular gradient, averaging around four and a half percent.
The route then descends to Gรคrtringen and Ehningen and continues undulating via the Mauren valley to Holzgerlingen and Schรถnaich. The route to the finish is no longer flat. The ascent to Steinenbronn and the descent to Waldenbuch follow. A few kilometers along the Aichtal, then left onto the old railroad line through the Siebenmรผhlental up to Musberg. Via S-Mรถhringen to S-Sonnenberg and then the beautiful descent into the Stuttgart valley basin to the finish. The finish is in the center of Stuttgart Marienstraรe/Kรถnigstraรe directly at Rotebรผhlplatz.
For the short pretzel race lap, the route is separated in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. The short pretzel race loop then leads via Bรถblingen to Schรถnaich and from Steinenbronn along the same route as the long pretzel race loop via Siebenmรผhlental to the finish.
