You are spoiled for choice. Because at the Gutenberg Marathon Mainz you can of course complete the full distance of 42.195 kilometers. However, if you realize on the way at kilometer 19 (near the Ibis Hotel) that you will not be able to run the full distance today, you do not need to feel “bad” at the end, but simply declare yourself a half-marathoner and cross the finish line after just 21.10 kilometers. The same option exists in reverse, of course.
If that’s too long for you, in addition to the half distance, the Peppex Sports 4-person relay marathon is available again this year.
