There were exciting marathon races at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris:
Men’s Marathon: Ethiopian Tamirat Tola won with an impressive time of 2:06:26 hours, setting a new Olympic record¹. He beat the Belgian Bashir Abdi and the Kenyan Benson Kipruto¹.
Women’s marathon: Kenyan Peres Jepchirchir secured the gold medal with a time of 2:21:01 hours². She ran a strong race and left her competitors behind².
The course was challenging, with a lot of elevation gain and passing some of Paris’ most famous landmarks³.
