The Scheldeprijs 2025 took place on Wednesday, April 9 and ended with a convincing victory for Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step).

Course of the race:

The race covered 203 flat kilometers from Terneuzen to Schoten and was, as expected, a case for the sprinters.
The wind played a role at the start and the peloton broke up at times.
However, the sprinters’ teams took control and kept the race together.
Around 10 kilometers before the finish, there was a mass crash in the peloton, which significantly decimated the field.
In the subsequent sprint, Tim Merlier came out on top and defended his title from the previous year.

Remarkable points:

Tim Merlier confirmed his strong form and his reputation as one of the best sprinters at the moment.
Jasper Philipsen finished second behind Merlier, as he did last year.
A mass crash shortly before the finish meant a reduced field of riders in the final.
Max Kanter was the best German rider in seventh place.
The women’s race of the Scheldeprij also took place on the same day and was won by Elisa Balsamo (Lidl – Trek).
