from Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 February 2024
Two on-snow competition formats, directly inspired by alpine skiing, will be on the program for this first edition of the event: super-G and dual slalom.
Saturday 10: Super-G races
Super-G races will take place over a single run, on a track with a vertical drop of between 350 and 650 metres, depending on the route chosen. The gap between the gates will be around 20-25 metres, as in alpine skiing. The racers will start one by one, at regular intervals.
This Super-G is used as a qualifying race for the dual.
Program:
09:00 – 09:45: Reconnaissance
10:30: Start of the race
Sunday 11: Dual slalom races
The dual slalom (comparable to the parallel slalom contested in snowboarding and alpine skiing) is an event consisting of a series of elimination races pitting two racers against each other on two parallel slalom courses, in two heats, alternating the courses. The racer with the fastest combined time advances to the next round of the competition. The duration of the courses will be approximately 30 seconds.
Program :
08:15 – 08:45: Reconnaissance
09:00: Race start
Both competitions will be held on downhill mountain bikes and are open to all UCI-affiliated National Federation licensees.
