From the 2023 season, the McLaren team JP Motorsport will compete under the Luxembourg flag.
JP Motorsport will compete under the Luxembourg flag from the 2023 season. Until now, the team has raced under the Polish flag since it was founded in 2020. The team is still based in Erkelenz near the Dutch border in the Rhineland.
There were three reasons behind the decision to compete under the Grand Duchy’s flag in 2023. Team owner Patryk Krupinski grew up in the country and currently lives in Luxembourg. Furthermore, team manager Claude Roth is a Luxembourger. Finally, some of the team’s mechanics also come from the country, which borders Germany.
“We are very much looking forward to working with the Luxembourg ASN. So far, our cooperation with ACL Sport has been very constructive and we think that this is a perfect basis for a successful 2023 season,” says Team Manager Roth.
In 2023, the racing team will compete in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup and field two McLaren 720S GT3s in the prestigious continental GT3 series. Christian Klien and Dean MacDonald as well as team owners Patryk Krupinski and Norbert Siedler will drive the two cars. No decision has yet been made about possible further programs for the team in the 2023 season.
