Marathon International des Gorges de l'Ardèche on 9, 10 et 11 novembre 2024Vallon Plein Air canoe-kayak club is proud to present the 40th edition of the Marathon International des Gorges de l’Ardèche.
The Marathon des Gorges de l’Ardèche is a legendary event that has been built up over the years. Now in its 40th year, this race sees lucky paddlers covering either 34 km or 27 km of the majestic Gorges de l’Ardèche canyon, depending on their chosen craft.
Whether kayak, canoe (MARATHON event), paddle (ARD’RIVER PADDLE event), pirogue, ontario, C9 or other large craft (CHALLENGE event), all take up the challenge of the legendary descent.
This internationally acclaimed event brings together accomplished champions and amateurs alike to brave November’s tumultuous waters. In a timeless atmosphere and exceptional setting, some seek victory and the clock, while others take part simply for the sensation and sheer pleasure of evolving in this environment.
The marathon’s calling card, its originality, is the spectacle of hundreds of boats on a descent in total immersion in a preserved nature reserve.
