The Étoile de Bessèges – Tour du Gard was founded in 1971 by former racing cyclist Roland Fangille. The first European stage race on the professional calendar, the Étoile de Bessèges has built its history around three inseparable pillars: heritage, performance and proximity. Led by a team of passionate volunteers, the race has always reinvented itself, year after year.
