The European Cup in sprint format took place today in Holten, Netherlands.

Linda Krombach achieved a very good 4th place in the junior category, confirming her current form, while her sister Mara, making her return to competition, achieved a good 12th place. They swam well, but were about ten seconds behind the day’s total of 8 athletes.

Among the male juniors, David Lang and Theo Marti got out of the water in 2nd and 3rd place. Poli Stoffel also swam well, but was unable to join the first group.

David Lang took his first European Cup podium with second place. Théo fell off his bike in the leading group and had to settle for a modest 32nd place, which did not match his potential. Poli finished an encouraging 23rd.

In the elite category, Lucas Cambresy was able to join the 40-strong pack behind a breakaway made up of 2 triathletes, after a good swim and ultimately finished the race in 38th place.

The Holten Triathlon once again offers an international stage to elite triathlon athletes in 2024. Holten will be hosting the prestigious Europe Triathlon Premium Cup for the 17th consecutive time. The renowned course on and around Salllandse Heuvelrug will see athletes from the global elite compete for ranking points and the stage. The elite junior series provides even more spectacle at the highest level.

For recreational participants and the audience, the Friday and Saturday will be filled with an athletic and festive programme.
