The 75th edition of the VCV – Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell starts next Wednesday 31st January in Benicàssim. The first stage race of the European cycling calendar is back for another year and it does so with a route and a line-up of participants that aims to maintain maximum equality until the last day. As it happened in 2023 with the victory of the Portuguese Rui Costa, the climbs to l’Oronet and La Frontera in the fifth stage may end up being decisive.

Seven World Teams, nine Pro Teams and three Continental Teams make up the line-up of the 75th VCV, the latter being the main novelty of this edition. Teams with younger riders and that will have in this Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana GP Banco Sabadell a luxury opportunity to measure themselves against the top teams of the international peloton. Classic squads such as Movistar Team, Bahrain Victorious or UEA Emirates team stand out among the World Teams; while the Spanish teams Kern Pharma, Burgos BH, Caja Rural Seguros and Euskaltel Euskadi lead the pack of Pro Teams.
As for the route of this 75th VCV, it is worth noting the presence of mountains in almost all the stages, although none of them will have a summit finish. There will therefore be a multitude of possible scenarios on each day. Breakaways, attacks from far away from the favourites or total control to guarantee a sprint finish. It will be up to the teams and the cyclists to decide how to tackle a demanding route with tough climbs such as the Desert de les Palmes, La Frontera or the fearsome Miserat, the great novelty of this 75th VCV, which will be climbed on Saturday 3 February, in the queen stage between Teulada Moraira and Vall d’Ebo.
In short, a new edition of a VCV that is the perfect exponent of Mediterranean cycling. A showcase for the best cyclists and teams in the peloton and an opportunity to show the world the wonders that the Comunitat Valenciana has to offer in terms of tourism and sport. Because once again this year, the 75th VCV will be broadcast live on television to more than 210 countries around the world.
