TRAIL RUNNING: Trail Uewersauer, Heiderscheid, Luxembourg

Loading poll ...

Trail running is a form of long-distance running, that takes place off paved roads.
The World Athletics Federation recognized trail running as an official discipline in 2015.
The term trail running can be used to describe all forms of off-road running, from jogging in the park on flat surfaces to ultra runs in several stages across the Alps.

Running on trails is perceived as particularly close to nature.
Rough ground and obstacles train the runner’s coordination and concentration skills in addition to physical endurance.
Since the entire body must be stabilized, more muscle groups are used than when running on the road.

Typical surfaces of the running routes are gravel, forest and meadow paths through forests or parks, single trails,
stone and scree trails in alpine terrain, trim trails, fin tracks or sand.

The trail run Uwersauer takes place in the region of Stausee in Luxembourg and a part of the registration fees goes to a good cause.

20 years Trail Uewersauer
Lots of new features for this anniversary

New route for the “Uewersauer Trail” with highlights in Esch/Sûre, Lultzhausen, around the Haute-Sûre dam and the final climb from Heiderscheid-Grund to Heiderscheid. As the Haute-Sûre lake is bypassed this year, the distance to be covered is 57.4 km.
The first half of the 33.8km Mid-Trail has also been redesigned and crosses the Lac de la Haute-Sûre at Lultzhausen.
New to the program is the 21km Cani-Trail, a race for runners with dogs only.
10km Sprint Trail, as last year.
Walkers can complete the 10km and 21km courses.
