The 2024 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships is a prestigious cycling event that will take place in Aalborg, Denmark from 29 August to 1 September 2024. It is the culmination of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, a series of qualifying events held all over the world for amateur and masters cyclists. The winners of each age and gender category will earn the right to wear the rainbow jersey, the symbol of the world champion, for a year1.
The event will consist of two disciplines: the individual time trial and the road race. The time trial will be held on Thursday 29 August, and the road race will be held on Sunday 1 September. The exact routes and distances have not been announced yet, but they are expected to showcase the scenic and varied terrain of northern Denmark.
To participate in the 2024 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, you need to qualify through one of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series events. There are about 25-30 events in different countries that offer qualifying spots for the top 25% of finishers in each age and gender category
